Kids

Every child is a VIP at the Chapel and we mean it!

That’s why we have so many terrific things going on for kids (and parents) here. It’s important to us that every child gets to learn about God’s love through fun, significant age-appropriate experiences. Not only do we offer childcare and Sunday School classes for infants on up, we throw in some really fun activities for the whole family to participate in as well throughout the year.

We’re always looking for ways to show people how fun it can be to love God and love each other, so we keep the door wide open for those who’ve never even gone to church before. You could say we’re not very “churchy.” But we are really crazy about God, and we’re crazy about His kids too!

Growing Young Believers

No matter their age, your kids have a place at Chapel

Awana

Awana is a nonprofit ministry that has been helping parents and churches worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). The mission of Awana is to “equip leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engage them in lifelong discipleship.” The Awana ministry here at Community Chapel seeks to provide an atmosphere in which your child can enjoy learning that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love, through Jesus Christ. They will also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives.

Community Chapel offers Awana Clubs for children, age 3 (potty trained) through 6th grade. Awana will run from 6-7:30 pm on Thursday evenings (youth group for 6-8th grade is also offered at the same time up at The Barn). Be sure to check the Awana Calendar, and join the Facebook Group, Community Chapel Awana Club, for club news and updates.

Each week, clubs participate in Game Time, Handbook Time and Storytime. Sparks and T&T will also participate in Opening Ceremonies. Kids can be checked in (5:45-6pm) in the lobby. Please have kids wear their uniforms, tennis shoes for game time, and most importantly, they need to bring their handbook and Bibles. Clubbers are always welcome to bring a friend!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Awana Ministry Director Tami Keesecker at [email protected]

Nursery

In the Chapel Nursery, we LOVE babies! We have a dedicated group of ladies and gentlemen who love nothing more than to snuggle, play with and love on our babies who are six weeks to two years old.

We provide a loving and nurturing environment where parents feel comfortable leaving their little ones.  For an added peace of mind, we provide a pager system where parents can be notified right away if baby needs them.

We love being a part of your child’s life, and would be happy to help in any way that we can. Come check us out and meet our incredible team!

Preschool

Preschool age children are currently the largest age group at the Chapel! These kids, ages two years through Kindergarten, are such a joy. Their enthusiasm for God is simply amazing.

We work hard to provide fun, significant and age-appropriate activities that reinforce Bible truths. Your child will sing, hear Bible stories, make crafts, play games and eat a yummy snack in a safe and loving environment. We have an awesome staff of teachers who are aided in the classroom by our SIM’s (Students in Ministry).

We also provide a pager system for preschool age children so parents can be notified if their child needs them. We would love to walk along side you in helping your child learn about Jesus and His unconditional love!

Kid’s Church

Our Kid’s Church encompasses children in first through fifth grade. At this age, we get a bit more serious about learning scripture and using it in real life applications.

The kids will learn God’s truths in fun and exciting ways, such as singing, crafts, skits, games, discussions and even through snacks.  In Kid’s Church we work hard at helping the kids develop life-long habits that will keep them Christ-centered as they grow.

Our philosophy is that, “It takes a whole village to raise a child,” and we would be honored to assist you in raising your children to become great adults who love God with all of their hearts.

Students in Ministry

We encourage students from 5th grade through High School to get hands-on experience as volunteers in our preschool and Kids Church programs. We offer regular training meetings along with free lunch, games, and prizes for our Students in Ministry (SIMS) and it’s a great way for students to practice serving.
