What is Man? Psalm 8

There may be no more basic questions one can ask than: Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going? To ask such is uniquely human. The shepherd King David gazes at the immensity of the visible universe and ponders, "What is mankind that You (God) are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them?" The shock of Psalm 8 isn't the endless, immeasurable majesty of the Creator God; it is that our smallness does not mean insignificance.
